Tips for Navigating the New World of Education

After high school, I went straight into nursing school and really enjoyed earning my Bachelors in Nursing degree. I worked as a nurse for many years and was happy with my income. However, I soon realized that I could be making more money if I furthered my studies and obtained my master's degree. I hesitated going back to college, though, because of the long drive I would have to take to the nearest college. One day, a colleague told me she was earning her master's degree online, which I didn't even know was an option. I was excited to learn that I could earn the degree I wanted without making that long drive to the nearest college to take classes. I am now eager to help others navigate the new world of education that has emerged in recent years. Come back often for new education tips and tricks!

Help Stop Hatred Within Your Community

Discrimination and hatred go hand in hand. When a child is bullied for the way that they look or their social status, they can be impacted in a big way. An anti-hate youth engagement program teaches young children and adolescents the importance of treating one another with kindness. Donating to this type of program can be rewarding to many children who reside within your community.

Find A Group That You Would Like To Support

A local boys and girls club, a primary or secondary school, a recreation center, or a church may host a youth engagement program that is designed to curb hatred. The public is welcome to learn about the programs that are offered within a community and may even encourage local citizens to get involved in some group activities that are publicly sponsored. For instance, it is fairly common for a youth group to host car washes, litter patrol activities, and contests that are designed to raise funds for a particular cause.

Upon researching anti-hate youth engagement programs, contact the director of the program that appeals to you the most. Find out if the group has any fundraisers coming up. If so, you can donate money directly to the cause or can donate your time to the cause. If you donate your time, you may be asked to perform some hands-on activities that will support the public fundraiser.

Raise Awareness About The Cause

You can branch off on your own and raise awareness about how hatred affects children. If you have an affiliation with an educational facility, such as being a member of the PTA, you could bring up your concern about hatred and its impact on children during a future PTA meeting. The other PTA members may show an interest in what you say and help you formulate a fundraising event that could raise money for the youth engagement program that you wish to support.

There are many ways that funds can be raised within a school. School dances, tricky trays, bake sales, and class trips are great ways to provide the students and their families with the opportunity to enjoy themselves. The money that you collect at each activity that is held can be given to the director of an anti-hate group. The donated funds can be used to pay for utility costs, building upkeep costs, and educational materials that are essential in keeping an anti-hate youth program up and running.
